By combining domcom, romcom, and shonen action, SpyXFamily has been one of the biggest anime hits of the 2020s. The series is heading to its third season and we have a trailer and a title for the next story arc, “Why did the boy become ‘Twilight’?”

Last season’s major arc was mainly about Yor’s day job as an assassin and her developing feelings for her pretend husband and daughter. For this next season, it appears that the patriarch of the pretend Forger family, Loid, also known as the spy Twilight is getting an origin story. The trailer shows him as a child carrying a gun, but we don’t have much else to go on about his backstory and how he became a spy. At least we know that he was a child soldier who conscripted to fight in a war. Despite how cute and silly the show usually is, it can be dark and violent too as the trailer teases. Aside from that, we can gleam the season will deal with the same silly hijinks of Anya struggling in school and Loid and Yor getting into spy and assassin hijinks. Most importantly, we have a reminder that October’s the big month where it comes out.

For those not in the know, SpyXFamily is an action/comedy series about a spy, Loid, and an assassin, Yor, who pretend to be married as a cover for their jobs. They take in a little girl, Anya, who has telepathic abilities. The initially fake family has bonded and developed real feelings for each other throughout the adorable, hilarious, and heartwarming series. There’s lots of silly gags to go with the cool spy/assassin action in one very unique package. Season three of SpyXFamily is probably the second most anticipated series of Fall 2025, with only the final season of My Hero Academia being the bigger draw because it’s the final season. No doubt that SpyXFamily’s third outing is one of the hottest titles of Fall 2025. Are you excited for SpyXFamily season 3 or any other Fall 2025 titles?
