Up to this point, all the trailers for Pixar’s Elio have focused solely on Elio. Turns out there’s an entire major character they’ve been hiding up to this point. With this latest promotion, he reveals himself: say hello to Glordon.

Glordon is an alien grub thing with dozens of small legs and no eyeballs to speak of. He just wants to be himself, but is held back by the expectations of his father, who happens to be a ruthless conquering warlord. That seems to drive Glordon to escape and find refuge in the Communiverse, a paradise resort for extraterrestrials from all over the galaxies…where he meets Elio.

The reason Elio is there is a separate story, which becomes a bit more fleshed out in this trailer. There are parallels to Glordon’s situation: Elio’s Aunt Olga works for some kind of space-focused branch of the US Army and wishes her nephew wasn’t so weird. Because of her position, she has access to satellite technology capable of beaming a message into space, which is how Elio manages to attract aliens to him.

Elio has told these aliens a little white lie: the club is rather elite and they believe he’s the leader of Earth. Glordon probably isn’t supposed to be there either. Since the pair have so much in common, they form a quick bond, which they’ll need to rely on when Glordon’s father launches an assault on the Communiverse.

Elio stars the voices of Yonas Kibreab as the title character, Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Remy Edgerly as Glordon, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO. It is directed by Madeline Sharafian (Burrow SparkShort), Domee Shi (Bao, Turning Red) and Adrian Molina (co-screenwriter/co-director of Coco), and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of Coco).

Elio will release in theaters June 20.
