With how successful Star Wars is when it comes to animation, it’s not a surprise that Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures would be among them. The show was recently revealed to have been renewed for season 3, which will be coming out fall 2025. Here’s everything that you need to know about it.
Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is a preschool series produced by Lucasfilm and Wild Canary Animation that first came out on Disney Junior and Disney Plus on May 4, 2023. The series is developed by Puppy Dog Pals alumni Michael Olson and Shellie K’vilvang O’Brien alongside Black Lightning writer Lamont Magee and Lucasfilm veterans Josh Rimes and James Waugh. The show, taking place more than hundreds of years before the original movies during the High Republic era, focuses on Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs (voiced respectively by JeCobi Swain, Juliet Donenfeld, and Dee Bradley Baker) from the planet Tenoo. Together with their mechanic friend Nash Durango (voiced by Emma Berman) under the guidance of Master Zia (voiced by Nasim Pedrad), they go on all sorts of adventures throughout the galaxy, whether taking down bad guys. That seems simple enough, but the show proves to be pretty enjoyable.
On April 17, 2025, the announcement for season 3 was made at Star Wars Celebration in Japan. While we don’t know everything about what’s in store for the series, such as episode count or if this will be the last season 3, we do have this information:
“Season 3 will also introduce Beepers, Dozer, and Gigi — a quirky band of droids, each with their own unique and hilarious personalities, who join our heroes on their missions. Additional newcomers include Dotti from “Dotti’s Droid Depot,” as well as eccentric droid builder and tinkerer Rek Minuu.”
That certainly sounds like a good time. One thing of note is that, regardless of how many episodes are in the season, it’ll be the third longest running animated Star Wars show. The longest running is Star Wars: The Clone Wars, running for 7 seasons and 133 episodes. In second place, there’s Star Wars Rebels, which ran for 4 seasons and 75 episodes. Star Wars: The Bad Batch used to be the third longest running show, running for 3 seasons and 48 episodes, but the announcement of Young Jedi Adventures season 3 combined with the show having 48 episodes in 2 seasons means that it’ll take that spot when fall comes.
