Announced back in October, 2026 will see a new crossover comic starring the two flagship characters of Marvel and DC Comics – Superman and Spider-Man! There will actually be two versions, one published by Marvel, and one published by DC. Now we have new details on the creative teams and stories, at least in the first version (this one published by DC). The main story will be written by long time Marvel/DC scribe Mark Waid, with artwork by Jorge Jiménez.
DC’s synopsis for the plot states “When journalists Clark Kent and Peter Parker find themselves chasing the same story, the conspiracy they uncover could change the world—especially if Brainiac and Doctor Octopus have anything to say about it. (And we bet they do!) Good thing our intrepid newshounds are secretly Superman and the amazing Spider-Man. To bring this clash of reporters‑turned‑heroes to life, Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez join forces to headline DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1 with an unforgettable lead story.”
While that’s the main story, the special issue will feature several back up stories, including:
While it’s a certainty that “Pa Kent/Uncle Ben” will leave us in tears, we’re having a hard time deciding what “team up” is more anticipated: Power Girl and Punisher, or Jimmy Olson and Carnage?!?
This of course isn’t the first time Super-Man and Spider-Man have teamed up, and to mark the occasion, Marvel and DC are bringing back those classic comics: This January sees a reprint of Treasury Edition 50th Anniversary of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (coming January 7, 2026) and DC and Marvel Present: Superman and Spider-Man Treasury Edition #1 (coming February 4, 2026).
Here’s the cover and the many, many variant covers that are being released to mark the occasion:

“DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1” will release on March 26th, 2026, at your local comic shop, or available for digital purchase.
