Out of nowhere, Square Enix has announced today that a new entry in the Dissidia Final Fantasy series is scheduled to be fully revealed on October 14th. This followed the website for the game being opened on Sunday.

The teaser website reveals the setting of this new mystery title taking place in a big city with a subtle reference to a Taito arcade in the background alongside silhouettes for some new characters joining the fight. The new Dissidia Final Fantasy game would be a Team Boss Battle Arena game and would launch on iOS and Android devices. On October 14th, the livestream is set to go live, teasing everything that the new game has to offer.

2008’s “Dissidia Final Fantasy” for the PSP clashed characters from multiple entries in the Final Fantasy series in an intense fighter that pivoted the casts of the games, both heroes and enemies into an overreaching story that connected between a conflict between the two gods, the Cosmos and the Chaos. The game was followed up by a sequel in 2011 titled “Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy”, serving as both a prequel and a remake of the original game with not only more characters, but with a story mode that explains how the events of the first game were set up. Now in 2025, a new Dissidia Final Fantasy game has been confirmed to be teased and the game would be bigger and better than the console entries in the series, with the leap from handhelds to mobile platforms, offering fans a new experience.
