Paramount+ has released a trailer for the upcoming second season of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is set to premiere on the streaming service sometime this December, though an exact date has not been announced yet. The show is the newest one based on the classic comics initially created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. It stars Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, all reprising their voice roles from the 2023 animated movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which should suggest the two are canon to each other, for those who didn’t know by now. The first season of Tales of TMNT debuted in August 2024, with all of its 12 episodes dropping at once, suggesting season 2 might have a similar release strategy in a couple of months.
In addition, also in December fans can catch an all-new CGI animated short featuring the Turtles, and set in this same continuity, titled Chrome Alone 2 – Lost in New Jersey. Check out a first look at this cartoon below. This animated short is set to play in theaters in front of the new SpongeBob SquarePants movie, “Search for SquarePants”, which opens December 19.
In case anyone somehow forgot, a sequel to TMNT: Mutant Mayhem is also in development, and intended for a 2027 release. It seems the future is looking pretty good for this new series of TMNT adventures, and more is probably on the way.
In more general TMNT news, a new website hub aptly called The World of TMNT has also launched, which features a plethora of goodies, bringing “together over 40 years of Turtle Power across films, series, games, comics and merchandise”. These include six television series, three movie franchises, hundreds of comic books and countless collectibles.
