The Trailer’s Out For Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle

At last, we’ve got a trailer for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle! If you’re still waiting for the series to return as episodic television you’ll be waiting a long time. Due to the massive box office success of Mugen Train, the remainder of the series has been changed to a trilogy of movies, though it’s not out the question that they could be chopped up into TV episodes later.

The Demon Slayer series has some of the best-looking animation of any modern anime, and we get a couple of tasty treats here — not a lot, apparently it’s still mostly a work in progress — but what does exist looks flashy as ever. Check out that one-second swordfight in the middle!

Demon Slayer is about Tanjiro Kamado, a young man whose sister is tragically turned into a demon after his family is attacked by one. Seeking vengeance and a cure, he joins an organization dedicated to hunting down demons called the Demon Slayer Corps. Perhaps he might want to rethink the whole cure thing — Nezuko’s abilties have saved his life on more than one occasion (though I’m sure he’d like to be able to have a conversation with her again).

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle picks up where Hashira Training Arc left off, with Tanjiro and the Hashira taking the fight directly to the demons’ stronghold: the Infinity Castle. And they’re not kidding about that name; it’s a series of corridors that go on literally forever! “The battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites,” teases distributor Crunchyroll.

Demon Slayer has been a phenomenal franchise, and we at Crunchyroll are delighted to have been a part of it from the beginning,” says Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini. “Crunchyroll is thrilled to be able to bring this trilogy of films to fans, on the big screen, and it promises to be one of the truly epic and consequential pop cultural events of our time when it hits theaters.”

Infinity Castle will be given a staggered release schedule across the world. The majority of places, including the US, will be getting it on September 12. And at least here, it’ll be screening in IMAX! Here’s a full list:
