Looks like we now know when Fox plans to start airing American Dad, the show that once called Animation Domination home before running off to live with cable friends for about a decade. Fox released its 2025 fall schedule this morning, in the process revealing which of its shows are being withheld for midseason. AD is one of them.
It tracks with the show’s production schedule, which ordinarily would have returned with new episodes on TBS in early 2026. The odds of it appearing in the fall weren’t likely unless Fox had grabbed the show much earlier and didn’t announce it. The network revealed that Family Guy will also have a midseason debut, making Fox’s AniDom lineup Seth-free this fall before doubling up on him in the winter.
The shows we ARE getting on AniDom at the start of the season are:
8:00 — The Simpsons
8:30 — Universal Basic Guys
9:00 — Krapopolis
9:30 — Bob’s Burgers
Keep in mind there will be only 15 episodes of most AniDom shows this season, and UBG is just 13. Krapopolis is the only show to enjoy a full season, which means the winter lineup could look something like this (our estimate, not Fox’s):
8:00 — Family Guy
8:30 — American Dad
9:00 — Krapopolis
9:30 — Grimsburg
Also keep in mind we STILL technically don’t know the true fate of The Great North; Fox won’t say anything. We feel like the cancellation notice could come at any hour, but assuming it doesn’t, that could make the schedule shuffling a bit more complicated. (Note: we want it to live too.)
Fox made the announcement that it was picking up American Dad last month, as part of their mega-renewal that locked down their 20th Television-produced cartoons for four more years. Yesterday renewals were confirmed for most of their other programs — Grinsburg and Universal Basic Guys were granted third seasons ahead of their second, while Krapopolis was given a fifth, putting it WAY into the future — the Greek society will not have to worry about crumbling until at least 2030.
