The summer months are, traditionally, a dry period for network television, with most shows going into reruns, or going on hiatus entirely to make way for cheap reality shows about people jumping into obstacle courses of giant rubber balls. But 2025 won’t be so dire…you’ll have fresh episodes on the Animation Domination block to enjoy all summer long.
Since AniDom currently has way more shows attached to its name than a block with just four slots can hold, there’s a backlog of content Fox needs to burn off. It’s going to be on a different day, though. Due to contractual obligations involving sports, many Sundays will not be free, so AniDom is temporarily moving to Thursday nights beginning May 29.
But when it does, you’ll get new episodes of Bob’s Burgers at 8, Grimsburg at 8:30, Family Guy at 9 and The Great North at 9:30. Here’s Fox’s plot synopses for upcoming episodes of each show:
Bob’s Burgers: Linda forces everyone to go on a family walk; Tina, Gene and Louise strike it rich in the illegal snack business at school; The Belchers have a wild night at a casino; and Linda learns more about her late grandfather than she wanted to know.
Grimsburg: Roles get reversed in Flute and Summers’ partnership after male sex workers start turning up dead. Also, in order to win this year’s Undies Award for best undercover operation, Flute infiltrates the Preggo crime family, and memories are sparked when Grimsburg PD cleans an evidence locker.
Family Guy (these plots sound very typical for the show): Lois becomes the leader of a group of mothers who want to ban books from schools, then embarks on a journey of self-discovery — which includes dating Bonnie. Also this summer, Meg enlists in a training program for a mission to Mars and Brian convinces Stewie to go back in time and bring Mark Twain to the present-day.
The Great North: Wolf must track down Judy before they miss their dinner at a fancy French restaurant. Additionally, Beef discovers the thrills of stunt fishing, his and Walt’s best-friendship is put to the test and Honeybee and Wolf renovate the guest cabin. Also, Ham, Judy and Moon get whole new outlooks on life.
Savor them all amidst the warm summer breeze…especially The Great North, which probably won’t be with us much longer. The new Animation Domination lineup starts May 29 on Fox.
