Daredevil: Born Again Releases Bone-Crunching Trailer

Daredevil: Born Again

When it was announced that Disney+ would be producing a revival of last decade’s Daredevil series, there were concerns the show would lose its grit. The trailer released today points to those worries being unfounded: Daredevil: Born Again looks to be just as violent as the original, with bones snapping, faces crunching into walls, projectiles flying, and blood dripping messily onto the concrete. Amazing what adding parental controls can make possible.

It’s been a few years since we last saw Matt Murdock….well, he’s made cameos in other shows, but you know what we mean. He’s not only in a better place mentally, he’s given up being Daredevil entirely….but of course, not for long.

The void he left is being replaced by a new vigilante, White Tiger, and a deadly serial killer they call “Muse” is stalking citizens. Murdock can do his lawyering all day and work within the system all he wants but eventually, the itch will become too great not to scratch. It’ll be time for the horn-headed suit once more.

This trailer is framed around the scene of Murdock having brunch with his old friend…Wilson Fisk? From what I remember the last time we saw him, as dear old dad in Disney+’s Echo, Fisk hasn’t suddenly reformed. He’s just found a platform more willing to ignore crime….politics. Fisk is running for mayor! That could make the hobby of daredevilling much harder. And speaking of “friends” this trailer confirms Daredevil will run into Punisher again, as he tries to convince the loon not to stab him with a hatchet.

Daredevil: Born Again features most of the same actors who were in the three-season Netflix series: Charlie Cox as the title character, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, and Jon Bernthal as Punisher. As for Echo, she and her dad are still estranged — Alaqua Cox says she’s not part of the cast.

See what’s cooking in Hell’s Kitchen when Daredevil: Born Again premieres March 4 on Disney+…assuming the parental controls are off.
