Crunchyroll has made a surprising last minute announcement. We already have confirmation that the final season of My Hero Academia will have its dub debut tomorrow, but now we know that two high profile series will also premiere their dubs, the highly anticipated third season of SpyXFamily and new anime franchise Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider. Fans of SpyXFamily should be excited that the beloved main cast remains intact from the first two seasons. The dub for Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider has some huge names, including the beloved super manly voice actor Patrick Seitz (Franky from One Piece, Dio from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures, and countless other roles) as the title character. Since merging with Funimation, Crunchyroll has been the most prolific anime dubbing studio around and the quality should turn out very good for both series.
For those unfamiliar with either series, SpyXFamily is the story of a spy and an assassin who pretend to be married to advance their secret missions. They take care of a six year old girl with mind reading powers and get into wacky comedic hijinks. It is part romcom, domcom, and shonen action. Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider is about an obsessed fan of the live action superhero series Kamen Rider (you may remember the American adaptations of this show that aired on Fox Kids or CW4Kids) and decided to become the titular superhero. Essentially, it’s like the movie Kick Ass but with a forty year old protagonist instead of teen. A forty year old who spent his whole life training to be a superhero.
