Superman And Spider-Man To Team Up — Again

Given the corporate status of DC and Marvel right now, with both owned by gigantic rival companies, it seemed like the days of universe-hopping between Superman and Spider-Man’s worlds were over. We were thankfully wrong — it’s been happening a lot lately, and it will soon happen again for their biggest marquee stars.

Last month, the Dark Knight officially met the Merc With A Mouth as Deadpool / Batman was published by Marvel on September 17. It’s a two-part release and the second, with different content, will be released by DC in November. But it won’t stop there…we learned today a brand-new meetup between Superman and Spider-Man will be happening this March.

If you’re wondering when this happened before and how you missed it, you may not have been born yet. The first DC / Marvel crossover, Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man: The Battle of the Century, was published in 1976. Since next year marks the 50th anniversary, they felt it was time to try again…and bring back the original.

“I can take you on — I’ve got super-strength, web shooters of my own invention, can stick to walls and have a sense that lets me avoid danger. What have you got?”

“I can fly, shoot lasers from my eyes, blow freeze breath, run at super speed, and I possess invulnerability to any kind of physical attack. Also, since I’m Pre-Crisis Superman, the writers can just invent powers for me out of the blue if that’s not enough.”

“Well, great. Parker Luck strikes again.”

On January 7, 2026 DC will print Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man #1 Treasury Edition, which will be followed by DC and Marvel Present: Superman and Spider-Man Treasury Edition #1, covering the entire mid-70s saga. Then, in March, DC will publish Superman/Spider-Man #1, and the following month Marvel will come out with Spider-Man/Superman #1, using a similar structural balance to how Deadpool / Batman was handled.

What the Man of Steel and Spidey will be up to in the 21st century has yet to be revealed. But stay tuned, true believers, as…hmm, that’s a Marvel phrase and DC never had its own boisterous human representative to come up with some of their own. If there was one, I’d sign off with it to give them some equal time.
